Musical Education/Teaching Experience: Bachelor of Arts in Music with an emphasis in flute performance. 12 years of private teaching experience.
Teaching Philosophy: Flute Lessons: Students from beginner to advanced skill levels will experience a special focus on tone development through standard flute repertoire, orchestral excerpts, etudes, and chamber music. Primarily classical study, students will also be challenged in technique development and overall musicianship. Each player will be strongly encouraged to participate in flute choir and annual studio recitals. All ages are welcome and students may start lessons as early as age 4. Recorder lessons are available for younger students. Piano Lessons: Piano aptitude is essential for every growing musician. Beginner students of all ages will be instructed in piano technique with a focus on music theory. Each player will be strongly encouraged to participate in the annual studio recitals. It is never too early or late to learn piano!
Additional Info: An accomplished flutist, Maureen Coady is praised for her beautiful sound, her command of the instrument, and how her passion is revealed as she plays. Widely performed, Ms. Coady holds a Bachelor of Arts in Music with an emphasis in flute performance from Millikin University’s highly acclaimed School of Music.
